Hi, I’m Jesse.
I could introduce myself as a multidimensional leader with over a decade of director-level experience in strategy, marketing, and growth operations.
But I’d rather describe myself the way my colleagues have: as that guy who seems to hold everything together. The one you go to with your most pressing problems, even though he’s not technically your boss. Who you love brainstorming with because you end up solving problems you didn’t even know you had. “The glue.”
In 2020, wildfires arrived at Portland’s doorstep. Black smoke choked our lungs and obstructed the sun. There was nowhere to escape; we just had to wait and hope for the best, through weeks of the worst air quality on earth (and weeks of watering my tomatoes wearing a gas mask).
The air eventually cleared, but the smoke never really left. Its phantom still lingered in my chest, a quiet voice calling me to act. Within a year, I left a position I loved because I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I wasn’t a scientist or a politician, but I knew I had something to offer, and I would devote it to the greatest challenge of our time: the climate crisis.
And that’s what I’ve been doing for the last three years: scaling individual engagement in climate solutions through an innovative mobile app that has tracked over 250k climate actions in LA since 2024 and is poised to expand to 20 cities.
My professional journey has led me through remote villages in Mexico and community centers in North Portland; non-profits and tech startups; eComm warehouses and high stakes investor pitches. Through each leadership experience, I've used my knack for simplifying complexity to help my teams navigate challenges and grow sustainably through strategies that meet the moment.
Outside work, I’m likely practicing piano, cooking something ambitious, or snuggling my corgi Oscar (he has a tail!). I feel most myself when hiking under big trees, admiring subalpine wildflowers, or foraging for culinary mushrooms.
